Miki Sumida

  • From 2018 to 2022, Miki was part of the management team at the renowned design office nendo, where she managed a wide range of projects—from corporate consulting to creating art pieces. This experience not only deepened her understanding of design firm operations but also made her realize just how important creative management is, inspiring her to found this company to support emerging creatives

  • Before joining nendo, Miki worked at the Bank of Japan, conducting market research. She then joined McKinsey & Company’s Japan office, where she advised retail and consumer goods companies on developing and executing their strategies

  • Earlier in her career, Miki lived in West Africa as a full-time homemaker, following her spouse’s job relocation. This experience sparked her passion for supporting women's continuous career development

  • In her personal life, she is a single mother raising a 4-year-old daughter

  • She graduated from the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Law in 2009

We hope to support creatives who:

  • Want to apply their skills beyond the art and design industry, influencing broader business and social contexts, with aspirations to make a global impact—not just within Japan

  • Have less than 20 years of career experience and want to navigate major life transitions while maintaining their creative careers (we especially welcome female creatives)

  • Value management expertise and approach our partnership with mutual respect—we’re professional collaborators, not assistants

  • Respects the creatives' commitment to their craft and genuinely wishes for their continued success

  • Responds earnestly to creatives' requests, as well as the various challenges and unexpected situations that arise, embracing them with curiosity and a strong willingness to learn

  • Approaches challenges in an world full of unknowns with a "figure it out" / can-do mindset

  • Can communicate effectively build meaningful relationships in English (English proficiency is not a requirement, but a plus)
